Rolf Johansen and Company ltd. (RJC) was founded by Mr. Rolf Johansen (1933-2007) in 1957. In the beginning, the company‘s main focus was importing and selling Bridgestone tires. A few years later, RJC started importing other types of products, in particular Lancome cosmetics and tobacco products from both R.J.Reynolds Tobacco Int‘l (now JT International) and Nobel Cigars (now STG).
In its time, the company has dealt in various products, but since 1999, the focus has been on imports and distribution of tobacco products, alcoholic beverages and relating goods.
Services
RJC services all sectors of the market, i.e. food retail, petrol and convenience, Horeca, and travel retail, including the DFS at Keflavik Int‘l Airport.
In 1987, RJC moved to its current offices at Skútuvogur 10 in Reykjavik. All warehousing and logistics are outsourced, while the company directly employs 12 people, who are mostly focused on sales & marketing activities.

Our Chairman and majority owner is Mrs. Kristín Á. Johansen, and our CEO and minority owner is Mr. Ásgeir Johansen.
